Overview

In an alternate timeline the Holy Empire of Britannia has used its humanoid mecha called Knightmare Frames to conquer Japan, renaming it Area 11 and subjugating its people. Lelouch Vi Britannia, an exiled Britannian prince sent to Japan as a bargaining chip, has vowed to destroy Britannia. Going by Lelouch Lamperouge, he encounters a girl named C.C. during an attack by the Japanese resistance movement. To save his life, C.C. give Lelouch the power of Geass allowing him to issue a command to someone that must be obeyed. Using the power of Geass and his superior intellect, Lelouch disguises himself as Zero and forms the Order of the Black Knights in order to achieve his goals. However, Lelouch's childhood friend Suzaku Kururugi has joined the Britannian army with the goal of changing the system from within.

Notable for being a total sell out to Pizza Hut in Japan.

The story of Lelouch is continued in the second season, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. Would spawn many spinoff manga and an OVA titled Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.
