  3. Part of me feels that the campaign-driven direction will end up de-emphasizing the MechDev, to some degree. Many people enjoy creating their own units, weaponry and backstories to go along with them, but are content to leave it at that and let other players have fun wreckin' shit with their spun cloth; in a story-driven setting, however, those who run the campaigns are left to cherry-pick series that apply to their vision, which by nature leaves out many others, undoubtedly a large glut of them Dev series, which may lend a feeling of "Well, why the hell should I bother?" to those who might otherwise continue creating, or force them to create their own campaign either inclusive or entirely revolving around said series - which is no small feat in itself and is just as likely to burn out once the GM is overwhelmed by running it. While large chunks of units are still left almost entirely unused in the current game (who the hell uses Gingablaze anyway), you're at least allowed the option to look through the CDB and go "Oh, hey, that looks pretty cool, maybe I should pick it up." That aside, I'm a fan of the SRW/Smash Brothers crackfic approach the SC has always embraced to begin with, and I believe that it's just as easy to plant the SC in its current game form alongside the campaigns to little detriment of either.

  10. If we're making the secondary attacks different in value then I'd say the listed (V:X) cap apply to the extra damage/accuracy. So a (V:5) chainsaw as current would be (V:4) in the next system. It's kind of ugly as we present them, but it seems less confusing that way, and I'm fairly sure that the Dev and Hangar will manage to strike a balance in statting so we use more 'rounded' values instead of "port stat as is, subtract one from (V) value."
