The Ins and Outs of SC FAQs

4 posts in this topic

Welcome to the SC FAQs board. Here, you'll be able to both use and submit various FAQs and Walkthroughs for games. The intention of this board is so that members of the SimChamber community can work together and create comprehensive and helpful information databases on an assortment of games, ranging from SRW to Dynasty Warriors to Devil May Cry.

Our own mini-FAQ follows.

Submitting a FAQ

So you want to throw up that G-Gen Advance walkthrough you've been working on, eh? Well, it's as simple as posting it up. There's no real format for submitting your FAQs to the board, although an index is always appreciated.

We ask that members limit each FAQ to one per game, and do not steal content from other FAQs without express written consent. If you have comprised a Character FAQ for Zoids Legacy, and there is already a Zoids Legacy FAQ present, then simply ask to add it to that one. More information can be found below.

Contributing to a FAQ

Did someone else already post a Prince of Persia FAQ, and you think it's missing some key stuff? Since we as a board are a community, helping one's neighbor is always shone upon. As such, feel free to point out the shortcomings of someone else's FAQ, but please do so in a helpful and clear manner.

If someone's FAQ is missing an entire section such as Secret Units, then you may write up your own section of them and submit it to the author of the original FAQ. While no one is being forced to add new sections, it is highly recommended to improve the quality and coverage of the FAQ. If someone contributes to yours, please give them proper credit for their contributions.

Legal Mumbo-jumbo

Nothing ever gets done right without proper credit. Basically, be sure to reference to every source you use for your FAQs, so that people may know who brought them the guide they're using. Besides, if someone asks for clarification on something that you didn't contribute, you'd look the fool wouldn't you?

Also, if you use content from an existing FAQ, make sure you have the written consent of the original author. If the mods suspect content is stolen, we will not hesitate to check the source to see if you contacted them.
