From the depths of time and space, a hero is called to battle evil forces threathening the multiverse! At his side he carries a legendary blade, and he is supported by his friends... and a super robot! Awaken, Tatsumasa! Unfold your wings and unleash your might!

Jikuu Senshi Tatsumasa

The walls of dimensions collide and break open as a man is thrust into a new world. "Who am I? What is this place?" - he wonders. "I'm carrying this sword... am I a warrior? I... I must hang on to this! This must be the key to my past!" Gathering allies and seekign his lost memories, the nameless swordsman explores the strange world... that seeming survived its apocalypse. Countries exist on gigantic floating islands, with nothing but empty space between them. In this place of endless possibilites, boundaries between magic and technology are nonexistent, and scientists use the remainst of their very world as a power source - Force Crystals. They can only speculate about what caused the strange energy coming from them, but they quickly learned to harness it, and tap onto its mysterious powers. They armed their country with powerful technology, and an army consisting of "Assault Troopers", wearing powered suits of armor and weaponry.

However, one of these scientists - Professor Harry E. Lyon - forsaw that if others find a way to tap in the same power, the destruction caused by two armed forces clashing could becatastrophic. He even theorized that the cataclysm that shattered their world wascaused by a similiar event. He couldn't control other people, but he had amassed a huge wealth thanks to his lifelong research. He spent all his funds to devise a new type of assault suit - no, a super robot in order to prevent this. He planned that once finished, it could serve as a deterrent to anyone trying to oppose the army, and thus preventing war. The government of course aided him as well, thinking they could take control over the other countries with such a weapon at their disposal.

Their plans, and Lyon's hopes were shattered when a new enemy arrived from the darkness, wielding a power greater than that of the force crystls. The country was decimated, and their technology stolen, absorbed and tainted by the ongoing army. Lyon himself was wounded fatally, but he was found by the nameless warrior who lost his memories. In his last moments, he realized that this traveler had the same origin as the attackers, but was a counter-force, meant to balance them. He entrusted his creation to this warrior, who took up the fight against the legions of evil creatures. Shortly, he recovered his memory and his purpose, determined by higher powers: Zarthan Sorai who was meant to stop the ambitions of the witch who created and commanded the dark forces, her name forever a mystery... or simply something that mortals were not allowed to know. He took up his mystical blade, Tatsumasa the dragon blade, and felt it resonate with the force crystals powering the super robot. FW00-Paladin it was called, but he had a different idea. Like his trusty blade, he called it Tatsumasa. And just like the magic sword, the super robot became his valuable companion in his fight as well... in this world, and in any one they travel to.

The main robot of the series:

FW00-Paladin "Tatsumasa"

Type: Super Robot

Height: ~45 meters

Power source: Cobining technology with magic, the Tatsumasa is powered by Force Crystals, that resonate with the energy of a world that survived its own apocalypse. The crystals generate power constantly, perhaps the power of creation, and are recharged by being close to any living world. This phenomena results in the fact that the robot's energy levels recover in a steady pace. The same energy flow also recreates whatever materials needed to repair minor damage to the mechanical frame. It is capable of 'healing' more serious injuries over a long period of time, which is convenient, since its pilot Zarthan isn't skilled in repairing machines. These properties serve more of a long-term benefit rather than a combat advantage. The regeneration granted by this ability isn't fast enough to provide a clear edge in battle.

When the crystals cannot resonate with a nearby living world or planet, their energy starts to drain as the mech is in use. Even if depleted, the life force or 'ki' of the pilot can keep the mech moving, but in this case it cannot fire any of its weapon systems or use any special abilites.

Characteristics: The mech itself is a humanoid super robot, focusing on speed and attack power. It doesn't have a tough armor, but its maneuverability and secondary defenses make up for it. It has two mecha-scale katanas sheathed its forearms, below a pair of plates with rectractable claws. The claws serve as a weapon system, and the swords can be drawn to serve as melee weapons against other enemies of the same scale. It also has a pair of wings made out of pure energy that can be summoned from its back. These wings have a clear light blue color usually, but as the force crystals powering them resonate with the emotions of the pilot, they can change colors. The wing can produce small energy blasts and beam shots if moved fast, as well as stop beam attacks from hitting the hull of the mech.

Weapon Systems:

The FW00-Paladin was built with the unique properties of its homeworld in mind. As such, it has various ways of defeating different types of enemies, and can even stand against the mighty dragons ruling the skies.

Firerat's Mane: Originally called the Armor Devastator, this weapons system launches small projectiles that dig deep into an armored enemy's hull then explode, causing some damage, but primarily rendering their armor plating useless. This weapon system was created in case advanced technology is used by the enemy, including armored units and assault troopers. This is the mech's only weapon using physical ammunition.

Phoenix Feathers: Originally called Homing Laser. The Tatsumasa powers up its energy wings that change color to blazing fiery red. As it flaps them open, several "feathers" actually beam shots leave the wings and head for the target. This weapon system was created to deal with threats from a long range. This attack has a low energy cost and low/moderate damage. Inspired by Jehuty's homing lasers from Zone of Enders series.

Spectral Slasher: The Tatsumasa power up its energy wings that change to a ghastly pale green color. It spins around, usign them as energy blades to cut into the enemy. This isn't a real weapon system, more like using the wings as an offensive tool rather than defensive. This attack has virtually no energy cost. It should be a basic, melee attack with an energy weapon. Think of it as a flashy version of a super robot's bream saber.

White Tiger Claws: Originally called Vibro-Claws. The three claws on each of Tatsumasa's forearm extend, allowing it to tear into its target and proceed to inflict serious damage with the blades, vibrating and moving quickly. This weapon system was created to deal with massive, organic threats at close range, such as dragons and other monsters. This attack should have a very low or no energy cost, since its a melee weapon attack.

Godspeed Slash: Not a weapon system, but a technique used by Zarthan. The Tatsumasa quickly unsheathes one of its swords, creating a shockwave that slices one, or a small number of foes close together in midrange. The original name of this technique is Sorai Ryuu Kenjutsu - Shinsokuzan. This attack should have a low energy cost and damage.

Dragon Blade: A swift melee assault using one of Tatsumasa's blades, raining multiple slashes on a single foe. Originally called Paladin Blade, Zarthan renamed the weapon to his liking. A simple, but powerful sword attack. I'd compare it to Vysaga's Fuujinsen maybe.

Twin Dragon Blades: The same as Dragon Blade, except using both swords, performing a relentless combination of slashes and thrusts with two weapons. Imagine this like Soulgain going Mai Suzaku or Angelg doing Mirage Sign, except with a pair of katanas. And without pink skirt and breasts.

Mastery of the Sword: The final technique of the Sorai style swordsmanship invented by Zarthan's father, and perhaps the most powerful of Tatsumasa's melee attacks. The user, in this case Tatsumasa, disappears from plain view, swords ready. Next, it will rain a hail of slashes from all directions to foes within an area, giving each the death of a thousand cuts. The essence of this technique is speeding up and rushing across the battlefield several times and cutting each enemy in the way of the user. I imagine this as Vysaga's Ougi-koujinsen or Shin Getter-2's drill where they just vansih and tear into the enemy relentlessly. Except this technique focuses on several enemies in an area. Guess that comes with an increased EN cost, but I want this. It would be his signature technique after all.

Final Aurora: The final weapon system installed on Tatsumasa. It will summon and enclose its wings around itself, that charge up and shine with all colors of the rainbow. As the robot opens the wings up again, they hail a storm of energy blasts and beams in one direction, covering a large area in front of the mech. This weapon system is very powerful and requires a large amount of energy, since it purpose is to clear one specific area of enemies.

Defensive Systems:

Wing Barrier: Tatsumasas can summon wings of solid energy from its back, and enclose them around itself and defend against energy-based attacks.

Aurora Bunshin: The common bunshin technique used by many martial artists, aided by the aurora wings of Tatsumasa allow it to create momentary afterimages and confuse its enemies with it. Esentially this functons like double image. Since it lacks any powerful armor, this is one of its primary defense systems it can rely on to avoid powerful attacks.

Dragon Blades and Tiger Claws: Not a defensive system, but Zarthan's reflexes allow him to deflect incoming attacks with his melee weapons.

Misc. Systems

Posession System: A control system that allows the robot to mimic the movements of the pilot. This system allows Zarthan to use the mech freely, and essentially use his martial prowess in mecha-scale combat. Pretty much the same as SRW's Direct Motion Link System.

IWA System: Intelligence and Warfare Assistant. An AI computer that assist Zarthan during his journeys. It has been transferred to the Tatsumasa's computer systems to further ease the use of the mech for him. Zarthan calls it "Eva" and refers to it as "her", since the AI's artificial voice is a female one. Eva's job is supporting him and scanning his targets for weak points, providing him information on different technologies.

(Basically I created the idea for this unit based on my play experience with Vysaga in SRW A, changing and adding details according to my own taste, and including it in the story of one of my oldest-running characters. The mentioned world is kinda WIP that's why I couldn't include more proper names, except for the mysterious enemy who was meant to be nameless.)

To be continued with more info and units...

In Episode 2 of Jikuu Senshi Tatsumasa, our hero faces off against the troops of the corrupt Connek Empire.

AA03M-Hornayt

The third-generation Asault Armor developed by the Cronnek Empire, this steel giant takes the strong points of the previous models Mozkito and Wazp, and incorporates them into an upgraded frame at a relatively cheap production cost. The individual models are also able to fly short distances and missions but usually require a carrier for transportation between the floating continents of the Shattered World. The mass production models are armed with a plasma stinger and a standard Firestorm Mk-VI assault rifle. To keep production costs and resources manageable (or rather realistic), mass produced units use a standard energy generator isnted of a Force Crystal Drive as a power source, and can be easily recharged upon returning to their carrier.

Power Source: It's average generator allows the Hornayt to function effectively, but limits it for long-term use. Also, because it lacks a Force Crystal Drrive, it does not have any special characteristics, meaning that it needs constant repairs and maintenance. However, these are not considered drawbacks because of its cheap production and repair cost, and the almost usual presence of a base or carrier.

Characteristics: Standing approximately 6 meters tall, this assault armor is still relatively easy to control, and thus has a good mobility. However, where its quick response time and speed gives it an edge, its lack of any serious armor plating makes it rather fragile. Hornayts usually come in yellow-black painting, their motif resembling killer hornets despite their rather humanoid frame. Individual pilots often change the appearance of their Assault Armors, painting unique or squad logos on it, or changing their color scheme alltogether.

Weaponry: The standard Hornayt comes with a fixed weapon on its right forearm called the plasma stinger. This is an extendable plasma spike that can be used to make short work of any opposing assault armor or critter at close range. Though older models came with a standard-output spike, recent models have been outfitted with an updated version of this weapon, that can be supercharged by re-routing power from other systems. This option, while at the pilot's disposal, is often discouraged as it can shorten the lifespan of the armor's energy generator, and is used almost exclusively by rookies.

The main weapon of Hornayt troops is their Firestorm Mk-VI. This standard issue ballistic assault rifle is perhaps the best of its kind, and provides its user with three distinct attack modes: single fire, short burst, and autofire. Single fire and short bursts are relatively easy to control and aim, however users must be careful when using autofire, as it consumes more ammunition and has a stronger recoil.

AA04X-Hauk

The prototype of the next generation Assault Armor is currently field-tested by Captain Louis Refis of the AA Special Forces. This revolutionary new design features a variety of changes from the previous Armors, and as a prototype, it has uses top-tier technoloty, including a miniaturized Force Crystal Drive giving it a steady energy supply. With this alternate energy source, it can operate independently without the the presence of a carrier if required, and its flight range is triple of the Hornayt's. The plasma stinger was removed from the design completely, replacing it with a tactical claw-based weapon and a discblade shield on the other hand. It carries a modified version of the trusty Firestorm Mk-VI Assault Rifle used by current mass-production Armors, but outfitted with a grenade launcher.

Power Source: The Mark IV Prototype carries a miniaturized version of the Force Crystal Drive used in the FW00-Paladin. Due to size restraints however, the waves emitted by the crystals aren't powerful enough to give it any special qualities other than a longer-lasting generator.

Characteristics: The Hauk is a bit smaller than current AAs, its height falling between 5 and 4 meters. It is unpainted, and wears its natural metallic color. The features of the mech are based on a hawk this time, rather than a hornet. Being a prototype, it is considerably more durable when compared to the Hornayt, and has a similiar maneuverability.

Weaponry: In the case of close combat, the Hauk can employ one of his two melee weapons. The first is called Ripping Claw, located on the right arm of the Armor. It is used to catch and disable enemy melee attacks, and possibly disarm weapons. It can also do some ugly damage if it has a chance to rip into the hull of an enemy unit.

The second weapon is the Diskblade Shield. This is actually a round shield located on the left arm, but with the flick of a switch, the edges of the shield will emit a light blue glow, producing an energy blade around the shield. This laser edge can then be used as a slashing energy weapon on foes.

For mid-to long range combat, it can employ the same Firestorm Mk-VI used by Hornayts, plus the grenade launcher mounted on the rifle. This grenade launcher can fire either chaff, napalm, adhesive or acidic grenades, but due to it's limited capacity, it can carry only two grenades, and only of one given type at a time.

Jikuu Senshi Tatsumasa Episode 3: The Dark Knight

After dealing with the Imperial army, the pilot of the Hauk teams up with the main cast, becomign a sidekick machine to the FW00-Paladin "Tatsumasa".
However, as they move on with their mission, they come across the forces of Zarthan's Nemesis, the sorceress who is plotting on merging the Empire's technology with the powers of the "Old Serpents". As the paladin and hawk robots fight off her giant sized minions, a mysterious new mech appears, wreaking havoc on the battlefield. Neither friend nor foe, the skilled pilot dispatches the remaining minions and engages Tatsumasa in a duel, fighting on even terms with the astonishing super robot. Before withdrawing, the mysterious pilot informs the team that the new machine is the counter-weapon against the FW00-Paladin, meant to stop the super robot if it is ever used as anything but a deterrent. She arrived to fulfill its purpose, seeing how the paladin was hijacked, but encountering the new enemies who clearly threathen the Empire, she is not sure what the motives of Zarthan and Louis are at the moment. She leaves with a warning, that should they endanger the Emperor or the stability of the Empire ever again, the Blackguard will come for them.

Alas, the sister unit to the main robot:

CW01-Blackguard
Type: Super Robot
Height: ~45 meters
Power source: Just like the FW00-Paladin, the Blackguard utilizes a Force Crystal drive. The crystals generate power constantly, and resonate when close to large amount of life force. It works exactly like Tatsumasa's power source described in Episode 1.
Characteristics: The mech itself is a humanoid super robot, but unlike its mobile counterpart, it doesn't handle as smoothly, on the other hand it is much more heavily armored. Instead of quick attacks, its weapon systems were made for sheer destructive power. Instead of a noble, silver-clad knight, it appears as an intimidating black colossus, a dark champion armed with a massive two-handed sword and a flowing, crimson solid-light cape. Since it can take more punishment than the Paladin, instead of secondary defenses, it is mostly equipped with secondary attack systems that allow it to charge extra energy into its weaponry. Knowing well the Paladin was difficult to harm, this design focuses on dealing as much damage as possible on successful hits. Like its predecessor, it is able to fight on the ground and in the air, though it has much less maneuverability while flying: it lacks the solid-light wings and relies on boost engines on its back instead.

Weapon Systems:
While meant as a counter to the FW00-Paladin in case it was used by terrorists, the Blackguard is still capable of countering threats of its homeworld. As such, it reigns as a king or god of war when compared to everyday assault armors, and can even take on the mighty dragons that rule the skies.

Soul Crusher: The two-handed sword wielded by the Blackguard is called Soul Crusher, and uses the same vibro-edge technology as the Paladin's dragon blades. While harder to wield, it packs a bigger punch as well, and when powered by superior weapon systems arcana runes light up along the blade. Swinging it around is technically the basic melee attack of the robot, though the weapon is too heavy for succession attacks, unless the mech is in overdrive (basically using it as part of another weapon system). However, darklightning can be channeled into the blade, to increase its destructive effect.

Mark of Death: While the Paladin carries missiles meant to devastate the armor of its enemies, the sheer force of the Blackguard makes that weapon unnecesarry. Instead, it can fire an energy shot that sticks to the target, overloading systems and interfering with nerve functions in case of living targets. This usually results in the victim moving more sluggishly, allowing the Blackguard to deliver the fininshing blow.

Great Smiting: The Blackguard swings around its mighty blade, cleaving one or more enemies in a close group as it charges forward, its cape blazing to form a fiery red aura around it, leaving a trail on the night sky. Since this means the mech is in overdrive, it can make more than one swing with the sword, and this technique, rather than standalone weapon system is meant to dispatch several lesser foes, rather then use against a single target.

Darklightning Bolt: As a result of merging arcane arts and technology, the Blackguard has a base ranged weapon that can fire jet-black bolts of energy resembling lightning bolts. The weapon can be supercharged by routing extra energy to the corresponding systems, allowing the mech to fire a massive, black ball lightning instead of a quick jolt.

Implosion Sphere: Utilizing the technology of the Darklightning Bolt weapon, solid-light constructs such as the Paladin's wings and the Blackguard's cape, the robot can fire a sphere of black light that engulfs the target, then becomes semi-solid, beginning to shrink. This starts to crush the trapped enemy, until it implodes and is consumed by a mini-singularity that exists only for a fragment of a second, before releasing all the absorbed energy and matter in a massive explosion.

Dragon Rush: Much like with great smiting, the Blackguard charges forward, crashing into the target and sends it flying off course, following it with an overboost, then bisecting it with a devastating dropping overhead slash of its zweihander.

Soul Punisher: The cape of the Blackguard flares wildly, becoming a blazign infero enveloping the machine, darklightning bolts running over its limbs and weapons. It charges forward without warning and crashes into the target, impaling it on its vibrosword. It then begins channeling darklightning into it, roasting it alive and flings it into the air by swinging the zweihander in a wide arc, and shoots an implosion sphere to trap it, but rather than waiting for it to explode, the Blackguard's engines fire into overboost, flying high above teh victim and bisecting it along with the implosion sphere with a devastating, dropping overhead slash, with the implosion sphere exploding around them. At the end of the attack sequence, the Blackguard powers down to normal, unharmed by the zero range explosion, a new solid-light cape sprouts from its shoulders, gently flowing in the wind.

Darklightning Vortex: The final weapon system installed on the Blackguard. The mech swirls its cape around itself and extends a darklightning field that pulses several times then explodes, drawing heavily on the robot's reactor, but devastating everything around it without discrimination.

Defensive Systems:

Darklightning sphere: The Balckguard can extend a field of darklightning to form a protective sphere around the machine, and help it negate incoming attacks.

Misc. Systems

Possession System: A control system that allows the robot to mimic the movements of the pilot. This system allows the pilot to use the mech freely, and essentially use their own martial prowess in mecha-scale combat. Pretty much the same as SRW's Direct Motion Link System.

Not sure if possible:
Not sure if it can be done since I already have the main robot statted out, but in the future I would like to have an upgrade for it and Blackguard, combining them into the ultimate super robot for the last episode, that can go toe-to-toe with the series Big Bad. I don't want it to be able to separate later on, it would be more like a "fixed" combined form, using parts from both robots to make a bigger one.

On the same note, since FW00-Paladin "Tatsumasa" is already statted and added to the mechdev hangar, I'm not sure if it would be possible to ask for this, but I'd love to see it have a combination attack with this mech, CW-01 Blackguard. If it is ok to add it, I will describe the attack here (which is basically a fancy way of them using their strongest attacks together, rampage ghost style):

Combination Attack: Code N.W.N.
The Paladin and Blackguard both go into overdrive, former shining with a rainbow colored aura of its aurora wings and latter blazing in a red inferno of its solid-light cape. They both charge forward, letting forth volleys of darklightning bolts and phoenix feathers, then both slashing the enemy from opposing sides, firing Firerat's Mane and Mark of Death to weaken the enemy before the final onslaught. As the Paladin gatehr new momentum, the Blackguard traps the opponent in an implosion sphere, then channels darklighting into its greatsword. As it closes in, the Paladin continues damaging the foe with its double blades, flying past with each strike, delivering the last blow the same instant the Blackguard slashes the victim with its charged blade. The implosion sphere shatters finally, and the target is in ground zero of the explosion, with the two super robots either far away already, or unfazed by the close blast. At the end of the sequence the Paladin and Blackguard strike a triumphant pose together, challenging the next fool to engage the deadly duo.

Creator's wishes:
Not sure how much say I have in mechanical things, but I would only ask for one thing from the person who is statting this: Please have the Blackguard on an equal or one lower rank than Tatsumasa, which is the main robot of the series. As long as I get my own rival robot, statistics are only secondary to me.

Ahoy there!

Sorry but you can't submit two unrelated units at the same time. Remove one of these and you can post it again once the previous one has stats and is approved by a second moderator.

Righto. Removing Haunted Soulgain for the time being then. Original series has priority now.

Also, I paid for adding the two Assault Armors before going on hiatus, and they're still not added to my custom series. Would it be possible to add them now?

No problem. I wasn't around anyway, but now that I'm back I want to complete this series, and maybe have a virtual stadium event once I have sufficient units for it, as celebration. :)

Thanks for being a good guy and adding them now. ^^
