ok, I screwed up, let me rephrase:

Think Yukikaze, the AI

so most of my mecha (no hero units) have this single AI

however, my hero unit has a special AI, like Yukikaze-kai (has different abilities, and pilot class)

what should I do?

one possible solution I had was, that they needed to replace the regular version, for the hero version...

but iono...

Well, that's what generally happens. A hero unit that's different gets, well, a new unit.

Of course, if the abilities and/or differences are not actually drastic, you could just do nothing and then the "different" AI is simply a built up sidekick pilot class.

one is really general... (novice, cannot pilot the machine)

one sorta has an ability that is specials (skilled pilot)

maybe once I finish creating the mecha, I would post it here..

I need to check for power balance also (which probably mmeans it's too strong as it is for a blasted RR)...

ugh....

my series I made just became a bit more like macross....

sigh, does anyone have this problem?

while trying to stay original, they some how leaned towards an existing series?

It happens all the time, don't fret. After all, anime is mostly a 1% of originality and a 99% of plagiarism, excluding some very noble exceptions, so, why shouldn't mechdevs be the same?

Just then a brilliant white flash strikes in the open field between the two forces. A thunderous clap soon follows, kicking up dust and sand. As the cloud clears a very distinct and large shape suddenly towards over the battle field, a Valsion. Directly between both forces, the dark blue arrival and two smaller unknown armor modules beside it, turn their attention towards Earth’s Cradle.

One of the unknown armored module is piloted by Luthien Corrimal, a pilot from the Divine Order. Wich have the intention of taking out Adler and the group he has allied himself with.

As the fight started the the Unknown armored module teamed up with the teams from the Academy, then it showed what it was. It was a new model from the Guarlion, wich seemed that it also could transform into a flightmode.

With the battle above the earth craddle, it was showed how strong the Guarlion II is. Its speed was almost unrivaled by other suits. But after a while an enemy appeared wich showed that was more superior then the Guarlion II. It was the Trudgelmir.

With a swing from it gigantic blade it cut a massive gap trough the armor of the guarlion II wich tried to dodge the blade. Luthien was then ordered by the pilot in the Valsion to fight against the other units.

Luthien flew away and picked up some other weapons founded on the destroyed bodies of the enemy mech's. 2 small sciccors knife the Guarlion II picked up. Luthien then decided to use these to fight with a more melee based fighting style. The guarlion II couldn't change anymore because the changing mechanism was trashed. Luthien trew away all long range weapons and fought melee with the knifes. The speed of the Guarlion II combined with its sonic breaker was enough to destroy multiple enemies.

As the kurogane entered the Earth Craddle, Luthien then followed the Kurogane wich he was ordered by his commander.

Within the earth craddle, another battle started against similar unit they fought outside. But after a while another enemy appeared in smaller numbers. But they were more powerfull then the rest. It were mass produced Bergelmirs led by 2 Bergelmir wich had different colors then the rest.

After the battle continued, Luthien grabbed on of these Bergelmirs trying to hold it down so other could shoot it down from the back. But it didn't work, a 3th unique Bergelmir appeared chopping an arm of and punching the Guarlion II away.

It was the last push for the Guarlion II wich smashed in a wall. It fell down on the ground, lifeless. All power of the unit was gone.

Before the mission was over Luthien was picked up by the Kurogane and was brought back to a carrier from the Divine Order. They brought him back to the main base where Luthien would be transferred to the medical bay. The guarlion was then brought to the hangar, where it would be stored.

After Luthien restored from his wounds, he looked at his Guarlion and saw how badly it was damaged. Almost all of outer armor on the torso was trashed.

The unit itself was so much damaged it couldn't even be restored. Luthien then requested the use for a regular Guarlion to be rebuilded into a custom version for himself. As the guarlion got so many upgrades it couldn't be called a normal Guarlion anymore. It was then decided that the unit would get the number same as the Guarlion II since it was heavily based on it.

Guarlion IIC

The rebuilded guarlion of Luthien. With several upgrades to it system and performances the unit would even surpass a regular guarlion II.

Weapons.

Shredder Missile - The guarlion launches several pods towards the enemy wich then explode launching a barrage of small nails wich shred trough the opppenent.

Machinecannon - The guarlion fires several rounds from its chest machinecannons at the oppenent.

Agressor blades - The blades on the shoulders get launched in the air. The guarlion boosts up and grabs them, after wich he boosts towards the oppenent making several slashes. (Just asking here for a 2 hitter)

Burst Pistols - 2 automated pistols, wich are rebuilded burst railguns, but made smaller. These are capable of firing several rounds at once. Attackwise: The guarlion draws the pistols, firing several rounds before sheeting them again.

Divine Claymore - A sword based on the same design as the Divine Blade. This blade is held by the guarlion with 2 hands and its lenghts is a bit smaller then the guarlion itself. This is carried on the units back. Attackwise; The guarlion would grab the blade and lets it tip hit the ground before boosting towards the oppenent when the pulls the blade upwards slashing trough the enemy.

Divine Claymore [Energy Wave] - The guarlion would now held the blade above its head, seemingly chargings energy inside wich then then releases as the guarlion makes a slash launching a energy wave towards the oppenent. (Same as the Valsion, but weaker i guess.)

Agressors Rage - The guarlion discards its armor revealing an even faster guarlion then before. After that it launches it agressor blades wich it then grabs. Then the suprisse part comes. The blades charges with energy. It is then showed that the Sonic Field generator were kept inside the shoulder and where connected to the blade. As a powerfull sonic field appeard on the blade edges the guarlion boosts forwards towards the enemy making several flashy images of itself as it appears in front of the oppenent making several slashes before disappearing at a other side proceeding with the beatdown. (Das finishing move, asking for a (X) attack)

Unit performances and systems.

So what you guy's think of it so far?

Test Post, testing formatting and stuff (And the very first part of my project)

Series Background:

In a very distant future, there was a large scale war that ripped through the nations of Earth. Fearing for the fate of the mankind, the countries of Earth sent a group of scientists, engineers, and a few commanders as part of Operation Ark to devise a 'last hope' for mankind. This hope, called Sanctuary, was keep secret from all but the highest ranking officials. The war lasted seven years until the one of the nations, the United States, was siezed by a coup. This essentially made everyone stop fighting each other to deal with the larger threat. In the end, with the combined forces of Sanctuary and most of the nations of the world, the warlord was defeated, and the nations of Earth decided to join to form the United Earth Federation (UEF) but the existence of Sanctuary remained classified. The higher ups of UEF and Sanctuary were in good relations for a period of time, sharing technology among other things, even allowing UEF personnel to travel to the moon to one of the cities that Sanctuary built, Frontier One.

Years past, Sanctuary continued to provide intelligence for Earth, whereas the Earth supplied them with necessities. Ultimately, this did not last long; as the population of Sanctuary and it's lunar colonies grew, they have acheived self-reliance, with mining and synthetic food. The UEF, with the period of prosperity coming to a end, took desperate measures to replace their weaning wealth. This led to a series of events leading to Sanctuary's halt on services for the Earth. Many years of boiling tensions and arms buildup finally erupted when the UEF hijacked the LFX-X3 Phantom Striker, the very third Phantom-series of advanced fighter jets and kidnapped it's test pilot (who was also it's developer and a geneticist).

Even before the start of the war, concerns were brought to light that the civilians of Sanctuary and Frontier might be in danger should they ever be on Earth. Therefore, the ruling body decided that all civilians and military officials were to be given false identities while on assignment or pleasure to minimize suspicion. The agency that kept track of all the people became what is known today as the " Intelligenza Sanctuario Invisible Sezione", or the Agency of ISIS for short, which further expanded into the 5 different divisions we know today. [ie. ISI5 is the 5th division of ISIS that deals with military intelligence].

Ever since the theft of the Phantom Striker, a full scale war was imminent...

Cast: [at the beginning of the series]

  • Max Raiden: 18 years old, employed by the UEF to investigate a case of vandals discrediting the UEF, only to get a lesson in the group he's fighting for.
  • Gina Rayfolle: 16 years old, also employed by the UEF as an operator on the mobile HQ "Amerigo", later revealed to be Grace Raiden, Max's little sister
  • Mia Reynolds: 19 years old, an intelligence official, Max's direct superior, later revealed to be Marie Raiden, Max's older sister
  • Dr. Who: 43 years old, the codename of a renegade that escaped from UEF custody with his soon-to-be bodyguards, serves as Raiden's last assignment with the UEF
  • Fiona Lockhart: One of Dr. Who bodyguards, talented sniper, her skills are on par with Max, underwent artificial strengthening.
  • Amy Lockhart: Fiona's sister, Amy is fun loving, but will get serious if she needs to, underwent artificial strengthening.
  • Celia Lockhart: The youngest of the Lockhart siblings, underwent artificial strengthening, the only one that Dr. Who did not 'kidnap', still undergoing mentally damaging enhancement.
  • Captain Alexander Feldman - captain of the Amerigo, and the highest ranking member on the ship.
  • Commander John Loxly - Commander of the UEFAF (United Earth Federation Air Force), holds trremendous influence within the UEF Military due to his ancestry.
  • Supreme Commander John Branstein - the commander of the entirety of UEF forces, effectively a "commander-in-chief", but only on the military side.

United Earth Federation Forces:

The militiary of the new United Earth Federation, established <insert date>, this military organization represents the will of the entirety of Earth and is stronger than anything that came before it. Currently, Supreme Commander John Branstein is the commander of the UEF Forces, a man from a strict military household.

Common UEF designations:

[Aero/Terran/Humanoid/Capital Maneuver Craft], C(arrier)], [H(eli), T(rainer), R(econ), S(upport), F(lyer; if a HMC transforms into such, H(umanoid; if a AMC transforms into such]

Deployment History:
With the advent of newer and more complicated fighters, a need arose for additional training for these expensive machines. Therefore, the UEF decided to convert the aircrafts of old into training units for rookie UEF pilots, among the many converted is the AMC-F40 Rycera. The Rycera was considered as a elite class fighter craft back in it's day and quickly became the most utiliized training unit.
    Length: 12.3m [unequipped]
    Wingspan: 9.56m [unequipped]
    Height: 3.45m [unequipped]
    Class: Aero Maneuver Craft
    Fixed Arnaments:
[+] Dual Photon Cannon - an artifact left from the old days, this Dual Photon Cannon fires from either side of the cockpit. This particular type of cannon is considered subpar against newer Assault Troopers and Assault Flyers, but at the Rycera's prime, it packed a powerful enough punch. The instructors of the trainer types may opt for paint rounds instead, as they are effective educational tools.
[+] 8.7mm Vulcan Cannon - located on the nose of the AMC, this fires bullets at an rapid rate, perfect for dogfights

Hardpoint Arnaments: (1 x each wingtip, 1 x under fuselage, under belly)

[+] Quad Missile Launcher - a cell of 4 missile launchers on each wingtip
[+] Laser Gun - a type of energy emission cannon, this fires a beam of laser from each wingtip, stronger than the Photon Cannon on this unit.
[+] 30mm AP Gatling Gun - A rather large Armor Piercing Gatling Gun that is installed under the nose of the craft
[+] Multi-Rocket Pod - Uses the same hardpoint as the AP Gatling Gun, this fires many rockets into an area, bombarding it into submission
[+] Camera Gun - used by the -40R, this high quality camera provide an vivid image of enemy positions as well as strengths and weaknesses.
[+]/[F]/[H] Stasis Bubble Generator - uses all the hardpoint to cops3mplete the bubble, the wings would swing down 40 degrees, allowing the emitters from the wingtips to interact with the main generator under the nose and belly, creating a bubble larger than the unit itself. This slows down the Rycera's speed a little bit, but can trap the victim for a period of time. This arnament is a double-edged sword in that it also protects everything that's inside the bubble from harm. Another thing is that since the wings have to swing downward 40 degrees to utilize this, it slows down the unit while the bubble is active. [Available on the AMC-40 Rycera but not on either trainer configurations]
[+] Stasis Gun - Using the wingtip projectors for the Stasis Bubble Generator, the unit can shot a small stasis bubble, capable of stunning an opponent. However, the effect is very weak and will wear off in a very small period of time. Mainly used to neutralize attackers while the unit escapes.

    Special Abilities:

  1. Remote Instruction Protocol - This piece of equipment is what defines the AMC-40T1, this allows a person in a control unit a safe distance away to control the unit. This uses up the belly hardpoint as well as the one under the fuselage. [Available on the Trainer models only]
  2. Second Seat - Whereas the AMC-40T1 configuration uses R.I.P, the T2 actually puts the second pilot (usually an instructor) directly into the same place as the trainee. While the both configurations can be controlled by more than one pilot, this one is less encouraged for attack AMCs due to their single pilot interfaces, but for larger AMCs which require more than one pilot, this is the way to go. The addition of the second seat renders the hardpoints in the fuselage and belly unusable [Available on the trainer models only
  3. Radome - a special piece of equipment that the AMC-40R Rycera [Reconaissance Type] uses, this replaces the Dual Photon Cannon and it gives a more detail view of the battlefield as well as giving early warning of hostiles.

Development History:
A new generation of AMC designed to counter Sanctuary's superior AFs in combat, mainly deployed by intelligence squadrons. This type of AMC is a unique mix, as it it an intelligence gatherer as well as an attack fighter, capable of overwhelming unsuspecting opponents swiftly. This unit is known to employ motion camofluage tactics in it's attacks, making this a deadly fighter. Another feature that makes this fighter unique at it's time is that it does not have a conventional bubble canopy of other fighters but instead uses a cockpit system like the ATs, relying on it's compound 'eye' to see the battlefield. It's four unused tail sections allow for more equipment to be stored like Propellant tanks, making it more of an even match against Sanctuary's new LMS-02M Orion II's. In time, new Dragonfly variations will come into play that will fill many roles.
    Length: 8.3m ~ 16.5m
    Wingspan: 12.56m
    Height: 4.10m
    Class: Aero Maneuver Craft
    Fixed Arnaments:
[+] Laser Cannon - equipped on the top of the fuselage. Fires a strong blast of laser that are analagous to the Plasma Rifle.
[+] Laser Phalanx - equipped on the nose of the fighter, this is esentially an energy beam version of a normal Vulcan

Hardpoint Weapons: This series of units' weapon placement is loaded onto a revolver-like system, where each "chamber" of the revolver contains a specific weapon.

      [+] Multi-Rocket Pod - see Rycera series
[+] 30mm AP Gatling Gun - see Rycera series
[+] Blaster Cannon - a stronger type of weapon than the Laser Cannon, stronger than the Sanctuary Forces' Plasma Rifles
[+] 4D Missile Launcher - perhaps one the only weapons that can fire from within the tail storage sections, this sprays many missiles in 4 directions, these missiles are highly accurate and adhere to IFF protocols when tracking, uses the Dragonfly's main sensors to do so.
[+] Pulse Blaster Cannon - this pod is designed a bit after the unit was rolled out, designed to fire rapid bursts of Blaster Cannon, akin to the Plasma Burst Rifle.
[+] 4D CIWS - another weapon that is mainly used within the tail sections, this close combat weapon is for the unit's typically "defenseless" backside.
[+] Bomb Chute - Various Bombs loaded into the chamber, at first normal bombs, ground digger and napalm versions after Operation Lights of Orion,
[+] Camera Gun - used mostly by the Reconaissance Squadrons, this high quality camera provide an vivid image of enemy positions as well as strengths and weaknesses
      [+] Flamethrower- yes, a flamethrower

    Special Abilities:

  1. Inspectoid Eye - two large compound eyes allow for a 360 view as well as long range detection for various objects, making targeting far better.
  2. Motion Camouflage - An optical Illusion method using it's wings vibrating at a certain frequency, gives an image of an motionless unit while in reality, the unit is charging towards a particular target.

Development History:
The Amerigo Super Carrier is a behemoth, to say the least, at over 440 m, the easily dwarfs any of Sanctuary's capital ships at the time. Most Carriers were designed to have support in the form of a battle group since carriers did not fair well against most threats, but the Amerigo was unique in that it was deployed alone because it was originally planned to be a stationary ship disguised as an artificial island airstrip. The ship was moderately armed (but more well armed than other carriers). However, a bad recon mission led hostiles to the location of the ship and forced the ship to emerge and escape into the oceans. A couple of ships were dispatched to escort it to a new and safer location and arrived just in time to save this ship from certain destruction at the hands of the Orion IIs. The carrier finally lifted off from it's watery home during an assault which left all escort ships destroyed. It has been in the air ever since. This Carrier was unique in that the Flight Deck is only used as a secondary launch platform (for units that can't use the internet catapults). Various modications were made to this craft in an attempt to keep up with modern times, none were particularly noteworthy and include engines, lifters, and sensor equipment. This next generation carrier proved to be well matched against the ISIS Forces as well as even the later SolCor Vanguard.
    Length: 440 m
    Class: Capital-class Maneuver Craft, Carrier
    Capacity: 85 (Typical), 120 (Maximum)
    Arnaments:
[+] Torpedo Tubes - anti submarine weapon
[+] VLS Launchers - For Launching Long Ranged High Yield Cruise Missiles
[+] MLRS - for coastal bombardment
[+] iRAM Missile Pod - for anti-missile defense

    Special Abilities:

  1. Countermeasures - this carrier is equipped with many countermeasures to air, land and water-based threats.

So comments? and does the Dragonfly seem overly strong?

So I'm starting to draft units for my own series, Infinite Transdimensional Soldier Victor. tl;dr, an ordinary guy gets swept up into Crisis on Infinite Earths, and as his universe collapses around him, he is rescued at the last instant by a universe-hopping starship staffed entirely by alternate and parallel-dimension clones of himself.
In a universe where intellectual property laws are moot and everyone thinks Douglas Adams is the shit, someone gets the idea of creating a real, live device to generate and manipulate physical probability in the environment around them. Because of the geniunely messed-up nature this series takes and the eventual probability in a multiverse of unlimited possibilities, the working device is completed and constructed.

The Quantum Algebra Engine is able to accurately predict and manipulate probability. Originally, it is designed as a propulsion engine, able to literally "teleport" by displacing it's entire mass along with whatever additional cargo necessary to a position not only nigh-infinite distances away, but even in other planes of existence if required. The only requirement for this kind of travel is a continuous area of vacuum for the Engine to teleport into.

Of course, some clever jerk realized that the Quantum Algebra Engine would manipulate probability to create that space. Shit, you could create just about anything. And so someone asked: Odds of a ship being created that would be able to fully unlock the Engine's creative potential. The answer: 1 to 1 against.

The resulting battleship was moderately sized. What made it majestic, however, was it's variability. Because of the Quantum Algebra Engine being it's core component, the ship could be upgraded and modified at will depending on who exactly was Captain of the ship. In more recent times, (Time is relative across the multiverse, anyways..) it has been guided by the sentinent onboard AI - in fact another Victor - across time and space to different dimensions in search of the many men who will bring about the salvation of the Multiverse.

The ship itself has a single defensive capability and a single offensive capability - both creative uses of the Engine. The Probability Barrier is an official term for modifying the probability of oncoming attacks, causing them to erratically swerve around the mass of the ship, or maybe disappear and reappear only to smash into the original attacker, or any number of seemingly physics-breaking concepts. The Total Existence Failure is the causal of all the atoms of a target to simultaneously cease to exist, causing the intended target to disappear as if removed from one frame of animation to the next; No bang. No fireworks. Just gone, kaput, erased.
I give you: Douglas Adams meets Mecha Anime. Will build on the idea some more when I get up tomorrow morning, maybe post some mech ideas.

wanted to get an general opinion on this topic:

evolving mechas (yes, something like pokemon, but I rather people think of it as Fire Emblem style class progression)

so in the beginning, you are handed a standard, low rank mecha (all melee attacks, which is going to suck, b/c it's going to be cc-ed away). When this low rank mecha get's one battle on it's hands (b/c I can't imagine people wanting to fight four more time with such a weak mecha), it can evolve into either>

>soldier (mostly melee, with some ranged attacks)

>archer (mostly range, with some melee attacks)

>cavalier (fast, but weak melee/range attacks)

>thief (fast, but weak melee/range attacks)

>adept (weak, but all ranged attacks)

once you choose a "class", you continue on evolving it to a higher ranking unit. However, I see some problems:

1.) most melee attacks, although in the series won't be easily cc-ed away, will be easily done here

2.) really low ranking unit in the beginning, as well as it might be weaker than a unit with the same rank (assuming pilots who are piloting them have the same stuff)

3.) how to do "magical" attacks in a mecha series (time period is modern by the way... not like Ryu-Knight)

but regardless, any input on the evolving mechas?

Doing magical attacks in a modern mecha series shouldn't be hard. If you think about it, the masoukishins are basically magical stuff too!

So, you're basically proposing, a basic unit with different evo paths. And I guess that all the paths have the same EP requirement, or there are some that actually have a higher one.

The idea by itself is interesting. For example, a generic type of unit could be customized with different energy systems, weapon systems, armors, and even AIs, to make completely different mechs.

As for how to slip magic in a series without creeping the rest of the idea (Seeing that the other evos are not magic), you could slide some RP trigger there. For example, the magical mech could actually be the generic unit, customized by the enemy (who has that kind of technology), then stolen from it. Or maybe the good guys are actually an alliance of nations, each with its own technology and knowledge, and all of them working their units from a single, basic frame...

All in all, nothing is impossible while deving. You just need to develop enough plot triggers, and adequate ones.

Also, as a minor point, may I point out that Cavalier and Thief have been given the same description?

Also, while I'm not sure I suggest it, you can have "melee" as just [F] with no (M) tag if you don't want it countercuttable.

well, I guess Cavelier have more agi

and thieves have dodge thing....

iono

still contemplating....

I guess, I need to look at the Knightmare stuff for attacks (they some what resemble it)

New Revision:

Deployment History:
Introduced in UEE 40, these fighters are nimble but agile. These served as the next generation Maneuver Crafts of the Unified Earth Era, since it is not wartime, these will serve as the newest flyers in the next decades, until the introduction of the Dragonfly more than half a century later, instead, new models repeatedly emerged with similar specs but slightly updated equipment. These were enough to keep the AMC "new and exciting" so to speak, but has done little to increase it's efficiency.
Even half a century later, the Rycera would still be a potent force for the UEF, especially since Sanctuary wasn't really developing mobile weapons either. But this new skirmish had made the Federation aware of just how inefficient these really are and started with the next series of AMCs. These would be known as the Dragonfly, which will roll out UEE 95. However, the use for these aging Maneuver Crafts would not be over, during the few years prior to the introduction of the Dragonfly, many Rycera units were converted into either of two modified Trainer variants, the AMC-40T1 and the AMC-40T2, as part of Project Renewal,
The AMC-40T1 Rycera is the first of two trainer variants created to allow pilots to adjust to the new control scheme of the newest generation of AMC. This variant is a single seater craft, which a secondary pilot, an instructor, back at base remotely linked to the control system. The T1 would prove to be useful for pilots of the Dragonfly, as it feautures the exact same cockpit and control systems as the new Dragonfly series, which allow them to adjust seemlessly to the Dragonfly when they are to be introduced. The second of the Rycera variant as part of Project Renewal; the T2, is a two seater variant, it is heavier to allow accomodations for a second pilot, this is for the next gen AMCs that features more than one pilot. The downside of this variation is that not many of the UEF's MCs would use the two-seater scheme until UEE 97, when the Scorpion was introduced, so many of these were armed and put into service as the Rycera TSV (Two Seater Version) to support the Dragonflies as the war continued, then promptly converted back into the trainer version as the Scorpion's design nears completion.

  3. Radome - a special piece of equipment that the AMC-40R Rycera [Reconaissance Type] uses, this replaces the Dual Photon Cannon and it gives a more detail view of the battlefield as well as giving early warning of hostiles.

So is this better or worse than the previous one? (The one a few posts up)

well, I guess Cavelier have more agi

and thieves have dodge thing....

iono

still contemplating....

I guess, I need to look at the Knightmare stuff for attacks (they some what resemble it)

Knights, cavaliers and paladins, most of the time, even though they are horseback, they also carry lances, shields and wear heavy armour.

So, probably, a cavalier-typed unit should be a bit slower than a thief, but also better armored and armed. However, it is just my opinion.
Storyline: In the year 20XX, business has begun to pick up steadily for a young shrine guardian and Shinto priest by the name of Suzuki Ryo. Since his youth his family has made it's living from tithes collected from the Seimei Shrine in Kyoto, the sale of basic charms and wards, and the removal and expulsion of evil spirits. Business is booming, though, as a wave of mysterious murders and monster sightings begin to sweep the area.

One bright summer day - the skies of Nagoya begin to swirl and distort as an ominous purple, foggy vortex opens above the city. A towering green monster with shimmering bio-organic armor plating and oversized arms that drag on the ground behind it drops onto the city, and begins to level buildings. Naturally, small-arms fire, tanks, and air-to-surface missiles pose little threat, and the JSDF becomes an example under the attacker's strength.

Once a sufficient area has been bulldozed out of the heart of Nagoya, The beast knelt down on one knee, extending it's hand to the ground to allow the man that had been standing on his shoulder for the entire battle onto the ground. He plainly identified himself to the news helicopters - the man with the creepy red eyes and the flowing black overcoat was Tsumaru, commander of the Oni, absolute ruler of Hell, here to fuck your shit up.

Walking into the ruin of Atsuta Shrine, the demon stretches out one arm, and a sword phases up through the ground - Kusanagi, the magic sword of Japanese legend. There is little after that - he walks back to his servant, and returns through the vortex to his home plane.

Seven legendary weapons lie hidden in Japan and elsewhere across the world. Whoever controls them all, controls infinite power. If Tsumaru, Commander of Hell, takes control of them, then all of existence is his to rule.

The Japanese Mechanical Research Institute has secretly been developing advanced super robot mechanics for years - which are a far cry from the basic, clunky mobile armors that modern militaries deploy. As Earth's cities are ravaged by mechanical demon beasts in search of magical weapons, they begin their search for a pilot - strong-willed, pure of heart, and devoted to justice.

Suzuki Ryo's life is about to change - but for the worse or for the better, we don't know.

Weapons:

Knuckle Duster - Hekishou Gia's first melee blade weapon is reminiscent of a World War I trench knife; a combination dagger and spiked knuckles, with a pointed pommel at the base of the handle. It slices, it smashes, it bashes, it makes julienne fries!

Burly Brawl - Those are some big fists, son! Hekishou Gia can maul opponents with it's burly arms and legs, even if it's a bit unwieldy. In order to acquire it's first weapon, it has to dispatch several foes completely by hand.

Monohoshi Zao - A weapon on par with the Dygenguard's Colossal Blade or the SRX's ZO Sword. Inspired by Sasaki Kojiro's famous "clothes-drying pole" - a nodachi considered tremendous for the man's stature. It's a tremendous, squared-off blade of an unidentifiable metal. After some laboratory enhancements, auxiliary verniers mounted on the sword allow it to be swung as if it were light as a feather; This enables Hekishou Gia to perform Kojiro's..

Tsubame Gaeshi - Hekishou Gia's first signature hissatsu. A two stage attack; First, Hekishou Gia cleaves downwards with the Monohoshi Zao, then upwards immediately afterward, forming a tight, V-shaped cut.

Abilities, Armor, and Stuff:

Shogun Armor - Hekishou Gia bears the resemblance of an old-timey Japanese shogun. It's equipped with heavy-looking plate mail, which is both surprisingly light due to modern alloys and metallurgy, and has little bearing on the mech with auxiliary verniers mounted under clusters of plating. (Fishing around for some medium armor, here..)

Ofuda Barrier - Suzuki Ryo is no slouch of a Shinto priest. His family is reputed for their wards and charms, and all fiction is rooted in truth. Specially-prepared ofuda scrolls can be used to absorb attacks, and the charged scrolls later can be used to redirect attacks at foes. Overpowering attacks will incinerate the scrolls, though.

Here's my idea of how this is supposed to work: By using the Ofuda Barrier, Hekishou Gia can use a single instance of an opponent's attack later in a battle. The Ofuda Barrier attack takes on all instances of the opponent's attack, except for the total accuracy (Ofuda Barrier has it's own accuracy) and rounds (An absorbed attack is Rounds Locked at 1). Like an AT-Field, if the attack is stronger than the Ofuda Barrier's damage capacity, the scroll is destroyed, the barrier negated, and no damage nulled.
Work in progress. It's like Daizengar, with BIGGER BACKPACKS!

question: What if you want to create a unit, but has no specific series tied to it? It's more like, a mix of different series. How do you do a background info on that?

Just make sure that each concept sounds believeable, like my Negima fiasco (Gundam + elements of magic = trouble) and to make the background sound believeable...

Akita> Considering that it's an original unit in mix-verse, I think it would be best that you use the closest technology to your orginal mecha and modify/rewrite it to your liking. And yes, like Kite said, make sure it sounds believeable and possible.

Kite/Nimbus> Yeah! I'd like to see that one too. XD *is also a Negima fan*

Hmm, I don't know why, but I think Super Sentai fits Negima more than Gundam.
