OCD - Sure, but as I've pointed out, the item stips are tied to the mission level. Once you get to the higher leveled missions, their stips are going to be R5+ items. Mission stips are not determined by the player at all. This, by itself, would ensure that R5+ items are used more frequently in battles, since you arn't up to the mercy of some WEAKLING. With this in mind, there's no need to make R5+ items "more common"; you need to be L15+ to use them anyway, and you'd be L15, or close, when you get enough rep.

Akita was also wrong anyway. I don't know where he thought rep requirements meant he could get FREE EPIX.

Largo - No offence, but if this person got into a fight like that, it was because he wasn't paying attention to the stips. Fights in the SC are set on a basis of mutual agreement. If someone doesn't want to fight a certain unit, or use certain abilities, then they cannot be forced to do so. IF you actually know this person, maybe you can suggest to them that they return for this. They will likely find it to be a bit more to their liking.

Regarding when things begin, as I've stated, the introduction event will be put up for applicants soon. Then the main game will begin once it's finished.

Right now, I'm planning to have Achievements still apply here, plus the inclusion of additional ones specifically for the campaign. So, this does kind of mean that players can possibly get double of a few items if/when the games cross over!

I agree with Fleed in principal, but not in context.

OCD, I'd just like you to answer something for me. Why, in your opinion, do you think it's so imperative that low level players have access to purchase R5+ items from the Arsenal? This seems to be a base disconnect between our viewpoints.

See, as I had mentioned, my intent is that high ranking items and units are intended to be the domain of high level pilots. This means that you won't be seeing a Level 1~5 offered mission allowing R6 items. They will more then likely be limited to R1, and players will be eased into the higher tiers as they advance through the levels. I don't agree that it's important in the slightest for a player to have access to purchasing R5+ items before they have even reached L15, let alone L20. If they are so desperate, for some reason, they can buy from other players.

So, if the design intent is that players won't be able to use the R5+ items until they reach L15 ANYWAY, then why should they be buying them beforehand? And why shouldn't this be a valid design?

    Huh? How is that MMO-like?

If I was making a program to run the SC (like, say, v4~!), I would do it one of 2 ways. I'd either use the Apprentice model where the program is nothing but emulating the basic shell rules, and then players are expected to plug in all the special rules themselves, or I'd dump them all and go to a straight SRW system where stuff either gives a bonus to your stats, or doesn't have an effect at all.

Trying to do anything else is just not worth it.
